What Exactly Is SR-22 Filing In California
Posted by smellyfeet in most popular on February 29, 2012
Reader’s Question:
When I was in Bakersfield I was convicted with DUI, I’d like to know what SR-22 is. Currently I’m in Bakersfield California CA. How would SR-22 it mean to me in California?
Krish
SR-22 is a form provided by insurance companies, it is a requirement in lifting the suspension order of your license made by DMV on your driving privilege in California. Having a drivers license, is having a privilege to drive, this is being issued by the government to the right people. But privilege is only as good as benefits; any time if a violation is committed it can be taken away. In the case of a driver’s license in California it will be suspended until such time the needed requirements are complied with.

Car Insurance Claim Appeal
Posted by smellyfeet in most popular on February 28, 2012
Reader’s Question:
I am from Massachusetts. A car was barely hit by my son while we were in a slow moving traffic. The SUV owner filed a claim though there was no damage on the bumper of his car. Because of this claim, my son received a surcharge notice. What grounds can we use to appeal to the merit board?
Ken
Lowell, MA
The surcharge points in Massachusetts applies when the driver is determined to be at fault by more than 50% in an accident which results in a damage in property or injury that is worth over $500.
To determine if the accident is more than 50% at fault by the driver, the Massachusetts Division of Insurance requires
to use Standards of Fault (211 C.M.R. 74.00) which provides the common types of accident where the driver is considered to be at-fault by more than 50%. One of the examples is when the car collides with rear of another car. Unless enough evidence is presented to overcome the presumption that the driver is more than 50% at-fault, this will be the basis of the hearing of the appeal.
Once you are determined by your company to be at-fault in the accident, you will then receive a surcharge
notice from your insurance provider. You will also find instructions on appealing surcharges to the Board of Appeals
in the surcharge notice. Unless you become successful in appealing, the surcharges will remain on
Do Motor Insurance Houses Consider No-Claims Discounts?

Reader’s Question:
I’m from Huntsville, AL and I’ve been driving a company car for the last 20 years or so. I’m thinking if I plan to retire, will an insurance company take into account that I was with no-claims discount for a car of my own? I own a classic vehicle on a special classic auto insurance policy but as it’s very cheap with limited mileage (1500 miles) and there is no NCD.
Greg
Once you retire, you can ask your previous employer for a letter stating that you’ve driven their vehicles for a certain number of years without a claim, which should go towards a few extra years to your NCB from your Huntsville Alabama insurance; good luck and enjoy your retirement.
Some companies will take it into account if you get a
Searching for Public Liability Insurance Agents For Your Insurance Plan Requirements
Posted by smellyfeet in most popular on February 28, 2012
Although insurance providers offer policies online, many people prefer purchasing policies from public liability insurance brokers for certain reasons such as, they offer a wide variety of plans from many insurers all on one website and brokers may also offer various tools online through which buyers may calculate amounts and obtain estimates in just a couple of minutes. However, since there are several brokers that offer public liability insurance online, buyers often wonder how to select a good insurance agent. Listed below are some details that will help you understand how to find a good insurance agent online.
To locate insurance brokers, buyers often use search engines like Yahoo and enter keywords such as “public liability insurance brokers” and look for brokers that come up in the search results. While this is one of the simplest ways to find agents who market insurance, it is important to note that not all agents who have websites can be relied upon.
As far as possible, buyers should search for agents that have built a good reputation. Alternately, buyers can look for reviews online or recommendations from trusted web sites. Reviews and recommendations often help buyers in understanding which insurance firm and agent is worth opting for.
Excellent agents have certain characteristics and offer special benefits that make them outstanding. Some of the qualities of the best public liability insurance brokers include an easy to use website, easy to use Internet tools and many customer care options such as making contact via chat, email and via the phone. Clients who are in doubt, may contact the customer services or hotline number offered and talk to a representative to understand if the selected broker is worth trusting or not.
In terms of solutions provided, good dealers offer a wide range of plans and they also offer custom policies. The plans offered usually enable buyers to choose when and how they want to pay, but since insurance companies have their own rules, agents may be unable to offer additional payment options in some situations. Good agents offer discounts, deals and promotional offers such as cash back offers to buyers. In addition, good dealers provide comparison tools, computation tools and online quotes for insurance plans. Online quotes are given immediately and these are applicable for 1 or maybe more policies. Buyers should remember that good dealers often use safe browsing options to guarantee the safety of their clients and all types of payments made are often encrypted to ensure security.

Frequent STD Testing Terms Plus What They Mean
Posted by smellyfeet in most popular on February 27, 2012
by Tilemahos Efthimiadis
As there is quite a bit of technical medical terminology that comes with STD testing, the below guide should help you understand all that comes with your test and results.
Acute
An acute illness or symptom is one that has a very quick lifecycle – it not only onsets quickly, but also leaves the body quickly. Just because an illness or symptom is acute and therefore leaves quickly, it does not mean it can only be a mild illness – acute cases can also be quite severe in some instances.
Antibodies
Antibodies are proteins that are found in blood or other bodily fluids, and are used by the immune system to both identify and fight off foreign objects, such as bacteria and viruses. When a disease or virus enters the body, your immune system produces these antibodies which can help to neutralize the infection.
Antigen
An antigen is a molecule that binds itself to an antibody, helping to stimulate the production of additional antibodies and, ultimately, fight off infection.
Chronic
An acute medical condition can mean two things: either that the illness developed slowly, or that the illness is a long-lasting and recurring condition. Chronic diseases are recurrent and therefore relapse repeatedly, with periods of remission in between each onset.
Condom
A condom is a latex barrier device used during sexual intercourse, helping to reduce the likelihood of pregnancy and spreading of sexually transmitted diseases. The latex barrier is put on a man’s erect penis and blocks ejaculated semen from entering the body of a sexual partner.
Cure
In simple terms, a “cure” is the end of a medical condition – its resolution. In regards to STDs, this refers to the treatment that ultimately ends the medical condition. Examples of curable STD infections are Chlamydia and Gonorrhea, which can be cured with prescribed medication.
Dental Dam
Dental dams are comprised of latex and are used during cunnilingus (vaginal oral sex) and analingus (anal oral sex) to protect against the transmission of sexually transmitted diseases and infections. The dental dam is held over the vulva or anus, allowing for oral stimulation of these areas without the transmission of bodily fluids.
Diagnosis
A diagnosis is the process of determining an actual infection or disease. This can be done through several different types of exams and/or medical procedures.
Equivocal
“Equivocal” means the rest is neither strongly positive nor strongly negative. Re-testing would be recommended for a determinate result.
False negative
A “false negative” result means that your STD test determined there was no sign of infection, while infection is actually present. If you think you may have returned a false negative on any test, please contact one of our on-call STD counselors at 877-206-6915 to review your test results, and discuss potential next steps.
False positive
A “false positive” result means that your STD test determined there was sing of an infection, while there is actually no infection present in the body. If you think you may have returned a false positive on any test, please contact one of our on-call STD counselors at 877-206-6915 to review your test results, discuss your symptoms, and evaluate any potential next steps.
Indeterminate
“Indeterminate” means that an STD test result is neither strongly positive nor strongly negative. In most cases, this refers to a HIV test result, which can be skewed by the presence of other infections or diseases. In the case of an indeterminate result, we recommend re-testing. If you happen to return an indeterminate result, please contact one of our on-call STD counselors at 877-206-6915.
Negative
A negative test result means that no sign of infection was found.
Non-reactive
A negative test result means that no sign of infection was found.
Reference Range
The reference range indicates what is in the positive, negative, indeterminate or equivocal ranges for any STD test results.
Positive
Signs of infection were detected during the test. In the event of a positive test result, we recommend you taking advantage of the getSTDtested.com services already included in the price of your test:
